POEM: Promissory Note

Promissory Note

America has defaulted on its promissory note — Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” –Matthew 19:24

Even
The rich man
Made note
That the whirled was broke
Happy that it was
Billed his way
He was a trader to his people
A cross

The camel’s back
Like a microscopic sea
A solitary tear
In his soul
When needled
To admit
Weave bin
Sow frayed
All that he could give
Sew what?
His soul rebuttal
