Countless Dawnings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Now<\/span>
\nI find myself<\/span>
\nIn the middle<\/span>
\nOf the night<\/span>
\nBefore futures tolled<\/span>
\nUnfettered from the past<\/span>
\nHeedless of tomorrow’s agenda<\/span>
\nYesterday’s experiences<\/span>
\nNothing but gleaned fuel<\/span>
\nAbundantly supplying<\/span>
\nMediums in a peerless world<\/span>
\nWear darkness is my palette<\/span>
\nKnow more<\/span>
\nTripping on the nebulas way<\/span>
\nSuccor punching<\/span>
\nWholes in the heavens<\/span>
\nAwl write<\/span>
\nAnd shooting stars riding<\/span>
\nIn secret cold<\/span>
\nPenned by unseen hands<\/span>
\nCanvassing unreveled truths<\/span>
\nFlat on my back<\/span>
\nBreathless<\/span>
\nTotally taken<\/span>
\nAs past away<\/span>
\nAnd ceiling my f\u00eate<\/span>
\nNone<\/span>
\nThe less<\/span>
\nEverything<\/span>
\nA mirror<\/span>
\nComma,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,<\/span>
\nForty winks<\/span>
\nPunctuating day dreams<\/span>
\nAs citizens in a vegetative state<\/span>
\nRIP and twinkle<\/span>
\nCare-less-ly<\/span>
\nShowing up<\/span>
\nOne’s own<\/span>
\nWake<\/span>
\nTwenty years<\/span>
\nAs no ordinary time travailer<\/span>
\nNo stock d’ohs<\/span>
\nWithout a hitch<\/span>
\nClearing acres<\/span>
\nOf slumber<\/span>
\nBeyond the vale<\/span>
\nHidden ’em where it counts<\/span>
\nEach singular verse<\/span>
\nGiving weigh<\/span>
\nTo many<\/span>
\nAnd still<\/span>
\nBard<\/span>
\nFor what is<\/span>
\nThe zzz ‘neath<\/span>
\nAwe experience<\/span>
\nAn eternal solace system<\/span>
\nWith mouthfuls of silence<\/span>
\nAs an udder<\/span>
\nConstellation<\/span>
\nPries<\/span>
\nAnother knight’s<\/span>
\nStay<\/span>
\nFor its always<\/span>
\nMidnight somewhere<\/span>
\nAs this orb it goes on and on<\/span>
\nThough offed in the mourning forgotten<\/span>
\nWading again<\/span>
\nOnly to be<\/span>
\nInterrupted by countless dawnings<\/span><\/p>\n

I have long found waking hours in the middle of the night as inspiring. \u00a0I find these in-between hours as particularly special, since they seem to be free of normal daily routines and thoughts of tomorrow. \u00a0I am often struck with many interesting ideas, but unless I get a flood of them and get up to write them down, they are mostly lost to my consciousness by dawn. \u00a0There are many theories about why we need sleep and about dreaming. \u00a0I view sleep as a time when our body, mind and soul sorts and integrates our recent experiences to incorporate them into who we are. \u00a0The brain is actually very busy during sleep. \u00a0This doesn’t surprise me, since most of our existence is subconscious. \u00a0When was the last time you consciously digested a meal or made your heart beat in perfect rhythm? \u00a0Like I am prone to say, “The subconscious: it’s not what you think.” \u00a0I find great mystery in sleep and dreaming. \u00a0I do not have a firm idea about what dreaming is all about. \u00a0However, I sometimes wonder if the anxiety present in some dreams is due to the soul returning from a deeply peaceful place only to be confronted by the less peaceful realities of conscious human life. \u00a0I do prefer to dream while I’m awake, engaged with the world. \u00a0Still, those mystical experiences and epiphanies in the middle of the night provide fuel and inspiration for my waking life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
