Wading for G\u00f6del<\/span><\/p>\n

A play of mathematical imprecision<\/span>
\nFraught with everlasting interpretations<\/span>
\nMalingering, idoling away the ours<\/span>
\nFor a character whose reputation must impossibly precede him<\/span>
\nLike the brutal distinction of jealousy and envoy<\/span>
\nMore afraid of the unknown than vacant certainties<\/span>
\nHanging around<\/span>
\nWhere oddly even suicide guarantees no relief<\/span>
\nFearing that nothing can’t save you<\/span>
\nYou continue with your undertaking<\/span>
\nHowever uneasy your stay of execution<\/span>
\nEvery certainty begs a certain vagrancy<\/span>
\nTo wander into a place transcending recognized laws<\/span>
\nLeading only to recognizing more laws<\/span>
\nAnd evermore places transcending those laws<\/span>
\nSomehow forgetting<\/span>
\nToo right your cycle<\/span>
\nHungering for certitude<\/span>
\nWe become backwards<\/span>
\nTaking on some medieval Buridan<\/span>
\nLike some starving ass equidistant between two bails of<\/span>
\nHey! That direction doesn’t feed me at all!<\/span>
\nHow can I drink it all in<\/span>
\nThis rarified and singularly absurd dox<\/span>
\nI’m pailing in the face of a pair!<\/span>
\nGrown instantly by the experience<\/span>
\nMaking bail<\/span>
\nA boat<\/span>
\nTime<\/span>
\nIn a whirled that is<\/span>
\n“Now,<\/span>
\n50% more axiomatic!”<\/span>
\nBarely con fronting reason cruelly deductive<\/span>
\nThe take away message<\/span>
\nBe aware of the trip<\/span>
\nIt’s juxtaposition<\/span>
\nThe present<\/span>
\nThe eternal<\/span>
\nBorne in mind<\/span>
\nYour out<\/span>
\nLook!<\/span>
\nAnd if you find yourself<\/span>
\nWith an accent on the Kurt<\/span>
\nGo d’ell<\/span>
\nOr waiting for some “go dough”<\/span>
\nTo get the hell out of there<\/span>

This poem requires you to be highly\u00a0alliterate! \u00a0The title “Wading fo\u00a0G\u00f6del” is both a tribute to Kurt\u00a0G\u00f6del and his Incompleteness Theorem<\/a> and a pun, and tribute, to the absurdist play, “Waiting for Godot” written by Samuel Beckett<\/a>. \u00a0There is also a tip of the hat to the medieval philosopher Buridan’s Ass Paradox<\/a>. \u00a0Please don’t sweat the everlasting interpretations! \u00a0Though I will offer one tip to increase your reading pleasure: the line “Go d’ell” should be read with an Austrian accent (Kurt\u00a0G\u00f6del was Austrian) — that is, give it your most dramatic Arnold Schwarzenegger accent, with attitude! \u00a0Enjoy the passage…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
