A phrase I use a lot to describe my daily mode of living is “low to the ground.” This includes aspects of living simply so others may simply live and playing the long game of generations-long struggles for justice. Also, I find that living simply offers “built-ins” that better align my interests and life experiences with those I seek to be in solidarity with. This poem is a tribute to this.<\/p>\n

Low to the Ground<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Some may knock me
\nLo
\nTo the ground
\nEvery sow often
\nPain forward
\nHear
\nAnd now
\nThat living one
\nDay at a time
\nIn a thousand year plan
\nMore depth
\nThen heights
\nUnlike giants
\nSky high
\nSmelling blood
\nGrinding bones
\nFore their daily bred
\nNot knowing Jack
\nBean there
\nDone that
\nNow
\nI am
\nHappy
\nEating beans for breakfast
\nPossessed
\nWith a deferent kind
