This is a poem of hope and resistance. I find it easy to ponder all of the scary challenges the world offers. I sometimes need to remind myself that a deep understanding of how the world doesn’t work also comes along with a deep understanding of how the world works, and perhaps most importantly, should or could work. I hope that today I can as enthusiastically reject the shortcomings of this world as I work to build a better possible world. Like honesty, it pays — not just as much as I’d like. May we win a better world…and change.<\/p>\n

The World and Change<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t
\nTalk to me
\nA bout
\nHow the world ain\u2019t a changin\u2019
\nNever
\nKnow weigh
\nNo how
\nEver hedging your abets
\nDon\u2019t con fuse my no\u2019ing
\nHow the world works
\nWith how the world doesn\u2019t work
\nIn spite of awe things
\nTake
\nAside
\nDare to live
\nOn hope a loan
\nThat utter
\nUnadorned
\nBroken silence
\nFore the least
\nOf these
\nSpeak
\nAnd due<\/p>\n
