{"id":2706,"date":"2017-06-09T13:20:10","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T18:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=2706"},"modified":"2017-06-09T13:20:10","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T18:20:10","slug":"poem-devils-advocate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/09\/poem-devils-advocate\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Devil&#8217;s Advocate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>He was invited too serve<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As devil&#8217;s advocate<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>But he prudently recognized<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>That the job was utterly filled<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Declining the precipitous prize<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And elevated gratuitousness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At one point or another, we are each tempted to\u00a0take up, the downside of an argument. \u00a0The temptation to play devil&#8217;s advocate is yielded to with such regularity that more often than not such encumbrances serve only to discourage rather than uplift. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toppun.com\/Political\/Buttons\/Don-t-Explain-Your-Philosophy-Embody-It-POLITICAL-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Political\/Don-t-Explain-Your-Philosophy-Embody-It.gif\" alt=\"Don't Explain Your Philosophy, Embody It POLITICAL BUTTON\" width=\"172\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>Reflexive skepticism often bludgeons another&#8217;s confidence. \u00a0Incessant dissection and paralysis of analysis can stall horse sense. \u00a0The evil genius of devil&#8217;s advocacy is in the seemingly safe purview of inaction. \u00a0Sins of omission are much easier to defend than sins of commission. \u00a0Endlessly attending multifarious schools of thought offers erudite inaction at a faction of the cost \u00a0Nonetheless, in a world already fucked up, practicing safer sects\u00a0doesn&#8217;t go far enough. \u00a0Inaction favors the status quo. \u00a0In action favors change. \u00a0Fortunes favor conservatism. \u00a0Fortune favors the bold. \u00a0The Devil needs advocates like we\u00a0need a hole in ahead &#8212; don&#8217;t fall into that claptrap! \u00a0We learn more from\u00a0what we due than awe the rationalizing in the whirled. \u00a0I&#8217;ll see you in the real world and raze you 100 devil&#8217;s advocates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/Buttons\/Twenty-years-from-now-you-will-be-more-disappointed-by-the-things-you-didn-t-do-than-by-the-ones-you-did-do-Explore-Dream-Discover-Mark-Twain-quote-SPIRITUAL-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/Twenty-years-from-now-you-will-be-more-disappointed-by-the-things-you-didn-t-do-than-by-the-ones-you-did-do-Explore-Dream-Discover-Mark-Twain-quote.gif\" alt=\"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
