{"id":2638,"date":"2017-01-13T08:18:36","date_gmt":"2017-01-13T13:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=2638"},"modified":"2017-01-13T08:18:36","modified_gmt":"2017-01-13T13:18:36","slug":"poem-trash-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2017\/01\/13\/poem-trash-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Trash Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>God is culpable<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Of more than you can<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Imagine<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Your momma<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fodder unknown<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Know Job<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A dyslexic dog<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Dissembling I&#8217;m OK, you&#8217;re KO<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Unsporting<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A boxer of tiny portions<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And don&#8217;t get me<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Going<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>On<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>That big, ugly, unmentionable cistern<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>You don&#8217;t no<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Jacked up<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As if<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To win some race<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In venting<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>All ready<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Only hopping<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To swear out<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>You&#8217;re welcome<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Err flailing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Too give a peace of your mind<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Brain dishing a bad as gratitude<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For feigning<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As mite be Abel<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To kick the biggest brass of awe<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>At the Guardin&#8217; of<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Eatin&#8217;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Up The Big Apple\u2122<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Arboring a grudge<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Match<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To the hole place<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As having conned him<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Impotent<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As a rubber <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ball<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A real bouncer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Off me<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sticking it to you<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>How in<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sensitive too<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The sores of your being<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So stoned phase<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Tow to tow<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As without<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A life less stand<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Erect it awe<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Wanting nothing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Except falling silent<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As is<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sow miss taking<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Not wresting<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Till you<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Accede<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Punch drunk<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Or even wurst<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Bared neck deep<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Be forgoing your sole<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>At the bottom of the wring<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Floored affront a missive audience<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Still<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>He lives<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fore this dream<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In this verbal spar for the coarse<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And dumb struck in aptitude<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For all else remains<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Stairing him down<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Forever helled<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In his hands dealt<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Before any anti-up<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Down with that<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In a blink if an I<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Never the first to given<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To a choir<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Such hush<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Money<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In a life unfare<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And projecting big<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>However mum<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>However long<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Too menned <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As fraud eons lip<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Silently psyching out<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As sum unspeakable whore<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>With a price honor head<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As taller rating a lowly art<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In sending some alpha mail<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Those sacred techs<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And incipient twitter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Having never<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Really metaphor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sow allusive<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To sum<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>At best semi-for<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Better off<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The mirrorly suggestive<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Un-intimated by ancient versus<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And ode records<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>An old man in a Jung man&#8217;s game<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As if<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Some ark-type<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A pare before them<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Where only won is going down<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A know lose proposition<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>What madder<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Is an other<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Head swimming<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As taut from the bottom up<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As must be<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Know one<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hear<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Knot fallen<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For that agin<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And in<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The tacit turn<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Of events<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Awe is ink or hear it<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Or in mortality by a million bytes<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Or the numb-er of hits<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And what can won do<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As trash talk<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The next best thing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Too silence<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>And bring a bout<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As know more<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A self-maid man<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Having a fuel<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fore a maker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As surly as<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A chicken before egged on<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A can o&#8217; bull<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As self effacing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Is only fare<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In the whirled heavy wait<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Division<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Of those in the arena<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Where countless I&#8217;s are fixed<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>On good byes<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As behind<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>They&#8217;re back<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To the wall<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Outside on the billing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The name on the mark he<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Can<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>But don&#8217;t halve two<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In the singular<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This long poetry slam offers an energetic and frenetic take on the modern, secular resistance to our metaphysical nature. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/Buttons\/A-Conclusion-Is-The-Place-Where-You-Got-Tired-Of-Thinking-SPIRITUAL-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/A-Conclusion-Is-The-Place-Where-You-Got-Tired-Of-Thinking.gif\" alt=\"A Conclusion Is The Place Where You Got Tired Of Thinking SPIRITUAL BUTTON\" width=\"172\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>This poem employs the metaphor of a boxer trash talking his opponent before the big match, a grudge match: pure physics and impure metaphysics. \u00a0This poem intentionally juxtaposes in-your-face physicality, profane language and plenty of attitude with the stereotypically staid and academic stance of philosophical discourse and theological erudition. \u00a0This poem mocks the scorn often evident on both sides of the theism-atheism, materialist-metaphysical debate, that fracas awe, aka the no\u00a0master versus the master debates. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/Buttons\/Don-t-let-your-victories-go-to-your-head-or-your-failures-go-to-your-heart-SPIRITUAL-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Religious-Spiritual\/Don-t-let-your-victories-go-to-your-head-or-your-failures-go-to-your-heart.gif\" alt=\"Don't let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.
