creative nonviolence suited the oppressed Jews (and others) with amor of hope, and provided <a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/10\/chapter-58-isaiah\/\">bold tools to disarm Roman rule<\/a>. \u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Political\/Buttons\/Non-Violent-Revolution-POLITICAL-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/ProductImages\/political\/26-Non-Violent-Revolution.gif\" alt=\"Non Violent Revolution--POLITICAL BUTTON\" width=\"172\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>Jesus was a threat to religious elites due to his profound challenges to the authority and legitimacy of religious elites and his surging popularity. \u00a0Also, Jesus was seen as indirectly stoking\u00a0the possibilities of a violent insurrection (Judas, from the Zealots who believed in violent insurrection, may have betrayed Jesus in hopes that his martyrdom would trigger revolutionary actions among the populace). \u00a0The religious elites had much to lose as their collaboration with the occupying Roman powers had\u00a0bought them special privileges, a classic technique of dominating powers to buy so-called peace, in this case the brutal-for-most Pax Romana. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Peace-Signs\/Buttons\/PEACE-QUOTE-Peaceful-Revolution-PEACE-SIGN-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Great-Quotes\/Peace-Quotes\/Peace-Quote-Peace-Sign-109.gif\" alt=\"PEACE QUOTE: Peaceful Revolution--PEACE SIGN BUTTON\" width=\"172\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a>Pilate, in questioning Jesus employs another classic technique of ultimately evading accountability with his infamous &#8220;What is truth?&#8221;
