{"id":2164,"date":"2016-03-19T15:18:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-19T20:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=2164"},"modified":"2016-03-19T15:18:00","modified_gmt":"2016-03-19T20:18:00","slug":"poem-sea-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/19\/poem-sea-love\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Sea of Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>I was lost<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In a sea of love<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Only to find my way back<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To this world<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Look in my eyes and sea<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>All that I have<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For you<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Love is a vast place; one of those places where you can recharge your soul or simply folic in joy.\u00a0 Love has an otherworldly quality to it.\u00a0 Not too surprising, if God is love.\u00a0 Love is a poor respecter of man-made conventions, known to turn conventional wisdom upside down.\u00a0 The weighs of love are not easily subject to human calculation or even put in words, especially for prose.\u00a0 This short poem alludes to this ineffability by its being made known through the eyes, the windows to the soul.\u00a0 Love is not prone to half-ass measures, offering <em>All that I have <\/em>as the only proper homage to love&#8217;s nature.\u00a0 While the experience of love is difficult to quantify or put into words, its nature is to share itself with another.\u00a0 May you love find you and the eyes have it.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this poem reminds me of another short poem of mine:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/21\/poem-divine-lover\/\">Divine Lover<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>One day<\/em><br \/>\n<em> I asked God<\/em><br \/>\n<em> What is it all about?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> There was only silence<\/em><br \/>\n<em> But with the look he gave me<\/em><br \/>\n<em> We\u2019ve been lovers<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Ever since<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was lost In a sea of love Only to find my way back To this world Look in my eyes and sea All that I have For you Love is a vast place; one of those places where you &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/19\/poem-sea-love\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,15],"tags":[229,428,65,79,273,379,658,94,107,447,502,53,131,531,389],"class_list":["post-2164","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-poems","category-political-and-philosophical-musings","tag-conventional-wisdom","tag-experience","tag-god","tag-joy","tag-love","tag-nature","tag-poems","tag-poetry","tag-poor","tag-prose","tag-respect","tag-short-poems","tag-silence","tag-soul","tag-wisdom"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>POEM: Sea of Love | Poems, Political and Philosophical Musings | Top Pun&#039;s Poetry, Funny Puns, Free Posters, Public Health Radio Show!
