Scores of politicians<\/strong>
\nGoing for green<\/strong>
\nAs peddlers of pabulum <\/strong>
\nPowered buy vicious cycles<\/strong>
\nGoing for blue<\/strong>
\nAs admirals of addled ad mirers<\/strong>
\nSailing cynicism<\/strong>
\nGoing for red<\/strong>
\nAs wore, wore, wore<\/strong>
\nPosing as knew<\/strong>
\nGone adieu this<\/strong>
\nUntil nothing left<\/strong>
\nGone adieu that<\/strong>
\nUntil nothing right<\/strong>
\nGoing, going<\/strong>
\nToo too mulch<\/strong>
\nFor tender truths to sprout<\/strong>
\nGone<\/strong>
\nWith the win<\/strong>
\nUn-till effacing larger truths<\/strong>
\nOver taking<\/strong>
\nAnd out with the owed<\/strong>
\nIn with the new<\/strong>
\nRe-coup-ing<\/strong>
\nAwe that was lost<\/strong>
\nA hearty evolution<\/strong>
\nAnd overdo revolution<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s another election poem taking on money in politics and politicians who use deceptive and hypocritical generalities to engender just enough support from party loyalists, ironically called the “base,” and from the remaining few who vote, enough support from those who dislike the other candidate more.\u00a0 I will pass on such centrist and cynical electoral politics that serves few except those already in power.\u00a0 I vote for a hearty evolution where citizen activists create the change they truly want to see the world, with unrepentant idealism.\u00a0 We can<\/em> do better!\u00a0 I pledge to work each day to create a life for myself that when overdue revolutions arise that I won’t be hesitating between my current privilege and a better future for all.\u00a0 I will plant and cultivate tender truths amidst the excrement that passes for mainstream electoral politics.\u00a0 Hope is in our nature.\u00a0 And Top Pun never sells out!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
