A parent<\/strong>
\nIn the relationship<\/strong>
\nBetween to be gotten<\/strong>
\nThe larger to the smaller<\/strong>
\nThe goaled in proportion<\/strong>
\nAmidst just us<\/strong>
\nSum times christened<\/strong>
\nThe divine proportion<\/strong>
\nAnd it doesn’t take<\/strong>
\nA mathematical genus<\/strong>
\nTo divine its kind<\/strong>
\nNever the less<\/strong>
\nAs if<\/strong>
\nSum<\/strong>
\nKnew specious<\/strong>
\nAnd miss conceive<\/strong>
\nThe gold in mean<\/strong>
\nBarren resemblance to<\/strong>
\nThe sores of our being<\/strong>
\nAn aesthetic<\/strong>
\nOf beauty<\/strong>
\nIn nature<\/strong>
\nAnd human arts<\/strong>
\nDesserting know one<\/strong>
\nThe hole slew<\/strong>
\nTo gather as won<\/strong>
\nAnd when de-part<\/strong>
\nLeaving soully<\/strong>
\nGood will<\/strong>
\nThat is<\/strong>
\nGrasping the incalculable<\/strong>
\nAfter math<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a geek poem about the golden proportion<\/a>, or golden ratio.\u00a0 \"In mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities. The Greek letter phi is used to signify this value of 1.618. \"\"The golden ration holds a special fascination in mathematics, architecture, and art.\u00a0 The golden ratio is considered to represent beautiful proportion, often found in nature.<\/p>\n

In this poem, the relationship between the larger to the smaller is defined beautifully by kindness.\u00a0 In computer age parlance Kindness 1.618 — a soft wear if you will.\u00a0 Social justice issues always involve power differentials, and hard ware is meaningless without soft wear.\u00a0 Without kindness, social relationships will necessarily be trapped in perpetual struggle, with neither the larger or the smaller experiencing the beauty of peace.\u00a0 Neither justice nor peace is a finely engineered and calculating existence.\u00a0 Both justice and peace flourish in generosity and grace.\u00a0 Oftentimes justice comes through those who have a steady experience of peace that creates sacred spaces enough for the hard work of justice to be performed without resentment, growing hurts.
