Thirst thing in the mourning<\/strong>
\nAdam collided with Adam<\/strong>
\nAgin and agin<\/strong>
\nAs taken aback<\/strong>
\nAs it was a hit<\/strong>
\nNecessitating an equal<\/strong>
\nYet opposite reaction<\/strong>
\nRecoiling for time in memorial<\/strong>
\nChastening to watch<\/strong>
\nAs if<\/strong>
\nOne clock to rule them all<\/strong>
\nAs reliably ticking off<\/strong>
\nAs any won could predict<\/strong>
\nNay, reckon<\/strong>
\nHow many fateful years<\/strong>
\nTo urn a time peace<\/strong>
\nAs fools goaled<\/strong>
\nPain the prize<\/strong>
\nFor what is<\/strong>
\nOnly avail Abel<\/strong>
\nAs kicking morass<\/strong>
\nMiring won another<\/strong>
\nAs if he only<\/strong>
\nPoo-pooing<\/strong>
\nAll that is given<\/strong>
\nFreely<\/strong>
\nUndertaking<\/strong>
\nWhat should be<\/strong>
\nWreckless abandon<\/strong>
\nLives in untolled runes<\/strong>
\nMalingering by passing<\/strong>
\nHigh noon<\/strong>
\nLong lost in the shadows<\/strong>
\nOf a flagging west<\/strong>
\nAs dusk to dusk<\/strong>
\nAnd wend we do not know<\/strong>
\nSow inconceivable<\/strong>
\nTo sum<\/strong>
\nAs won’s better have<\/strong>
\nOf what once was<\/strong>
\nMirrorly<\/strong>
\nEve ‘n<\/strong>
\nO men!<\/strong>
\nOf what will be<\/strong><\/p>\n

From whence the spirit comes and to where it goes, nobody knows.\u00a0 The life of the spirit is deeply involved in possibility, originality.\u00a0 As the prophet Isaiah proclaimed in this regard: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)\u00a0 Denying wondrous, life-springing possibilities and freshness is unoriginal sin.\u00a0 Leaning on the everlasting alms calls us to awe that is anew.\u00a0 The wilderness today is a so-called civilization with a seemingly inescapable rigged game.\u00a0 The wasteland is a close-sum game with all competing for seemingly scant resources and only hoping to make degrade. The life of the spirit is imbued with hope and possibility.\u00a0 The probabilistic universe that we live in is simply a playground for hope to run amuck — amuck being what happens when stardust is mixed with water.\u00a0 Mistaking the universe, creation, for merely a set of rules buy which wee are gloriously complicated dirt determined to be the best rule followers, is the worst sort of religion.\u00a0 Experiencing creation is an inescapable part of our being — “do you not perceive it?”\u00a0 Participating in creating is much more optional.\u00a0 “He made me do it.”\u00a0 “That’s not my job.”\u00a0 “I’m only doing my job.”\u00a0 These are not the type of things that people say who are firmly grounded in the rapscallion life of the spirit, that is, who are in love with hope and possibility — and in love with love.\u00a0 May you be totally captivated by hope and possibility, a vexing wrench in the probabilistic gamers triangulations.\u00a0 And if you must sin, please, try something original.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
