{"id":1824,"date":"2015-08-09T07:43:58","date_gmt":"2015-08-09T12:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=1824"},"modified":"2015-08-08T14:23:55","modified_gmt":"2015-08-08T19:23:55","slug":"poem-putting-the-monet-in-monetize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/09\/poem-putting-the-monet-in-monetize\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Putting The Monet In Monetize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The starving artist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Whose art couldn&#8217;t be made<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fast enough<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fore his dealer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Rejecting means<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Except as accede<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>In awe but name groan<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Poising as a plant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To the extant one can make cents<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Putting the Monet in monetize<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This poem goes out for awe of the artists successfully resist compromising their heart in order to achieve commercial success.\u00a0 Compromising our humanity to monetize our lives seems to be at the core of our capitalist culture.\u00a0 The stark choices between money and people often appear surreal due to the sheer omnipresence of selling out.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Peace-Signs\/Buttons\/No-Health-Well-Adjusted-to-Profoundly-Sick-Society-PEACE-QUOTE-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Great-Quotes\/Peace-Quotes\/Peace-Quote-Peace-Sign-87.gif\" alt=\"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society -- Krishnamurti quote\" width=\"172\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a>When sickness becomes the norm, a healthy path seems insane. \u00a0 As Krishnamurti so aptly stated, &#8220;It&#8217;s no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.&#8221;\u00a0 Art serves a purpose far deeper than &#8220;making a living, &#8221; by connecting and re-connecting us to our most primal and highest feelings and aspirations.\u00a0 Art can serve as an antidote to the societal sickness built on wanton conformity and shallow efficiency.
