{"id":1782,"date":"2015-07-09T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-09T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=1782"},"modified":"2015-07-09T15:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-07-09T20:00:00","slug":"poem-her-beatify-regime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/09\/poem-her-beatify-regime\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Her Beatify Regime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>She offered her life for others<br \/>\nOccupying the known and unknown<br \/>\nIn a humanity so rare<br \/>\nAs a piece of raw flesh<br \/>\nNourishing friend and faux akin<br \/>\nWear life and dead meet<br \/>\nSow mysteriously<br \/>\nAnew humanity<br \/>\nBecoming<br \/>\nIn awe weighs<br \/>\nWith winsome<br \/>\nAnd grace<br \/>\nWaiving her rights<br \/>\nIn the face of unseemly fortunes<br \/>\nAnd a parent fate<br \/>\nLike in experienced chide<br \/>\nPassing into a door<br \/>\nA mist reluctant fallowers<br \/>\nWont to cling too<br \/>\nA certain fate<br \/>\nFor what remains<br \/>\nSecrets of eternal youth<br \/>\nBorne again<br \/>\nA head of her times<br \/>\nAnd a big art for all<br \/>\nLetting go of earthly flatter<br \/>\nAs some age ode flyer<br \/>\nHanging round<br \/>\nUntil taken down<br \/>\nBy pluckers of all forms<br \/>\nIn that primeval<br \/>\nOf wrongs and rites<br \/>\nRising once more<br \/>\nAs ballads fly<br \/>\nAs so many<br \/>\nUntried convictions<br \/>\nSo long side<br \/>\nIn dis belief<br \/>\nAs refuse<br \/>\nThe un-altar-Abel<br \/>\nSteaking won&#8217;s claim<br \/>\nFrom whence I live<br \/>\nAs never never land<br \/>\nUn-till<br \/>\nWe meat again<\/p>\n<p>This poem is yet another ode to feminine virtues, as a mother&#8217;s patient strength and wisdom that fights fiercely and elegantly for all of earth&#8217;s children, sacrificing many earthly pursuits to give rise to not a little heaven on earth.\u00a0 This poem plays with issues of both inner beauty and outer beauty, as inner beauty incarnates itself into the outer world, making the world both more beautiful and us grateful for the beauty ever-present before us.\u00a0 Inner beauty is real &#8212; not merely sentiment &#8212; bursting into creation, fulfilling our inborn desire to be beautiful and share that beauty with others.\u00a0 This grace and elegance in the face of ignorance and cruelty is the heart of nonviolent living, recognizing and paying tribute with one&#8217;s life to the transcendent superiority of love over hate and service over domination.<\/p>\n<p>This poem has allusions to a heavenly afterlife.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Martin-Luther-King\/Buttons\/The-time-is-always-right-to-do-what-is-right-Martin-Luther-King-Jr-BUTTON.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/toppun.com\/Martin-Luther-King\/time-always-right-to-do-what-is-right.gif\" alt=\"The time is always right to do what is right -- Martin Luther King, Jr. quote.\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>I am not a big fan of heaven as some delayed reward, some divine carrot, to get us to behave well on earth.\u00a0 Rather, the heavenly allusions are to poetically lift up the triumph of life over death, the ultimate affirmation of good as stronger than evil.
