He axed me<\/strong>
\n What are your demands<\/strong>
\n Other than justice<\/strong>
\n Or saving life?<\/strong>
\n Claiming that<\/strong>
\n We must shed light<\/strong>
\n On just said<\/strong>
\n Shady distinctions<\/strong>
\n I mirrorly pronounced<\/strong>
\n That the win blows<\/strong>
\n And we no knot wear<\/strong>
\n Such goest<\/strong>
\n In this Ruth-less whirled<\/strong>
\n Whither fallowing<\/strong>
\n Long the weigh<\/strong>
\n In grave deliverance<\/strong>
\n Or<\/strong>
\n Idol metings<\/strong>
\n And hollowed turning<\/strong>
\n Led to goaled<\/strong>
\n As wee are ruled out<\/strong>
\n In is capable<\/strong>
\n Voiding this cryptic rout<\/strong>
\n Wear even<\/strong>
\n The wise crack<\/strong>
\n Quipping us<\/strong>
\n Beyond what said<\/strong>
\n As inevitable<\/strong>
\n Ran some<\/strong>
\n Never the less<\/strong>
\n A firm<\/strong>
\n I no people<\/strong>
\n Who are experts<\/strong>
\n In every thing for sail<\/strong>
\n Filling the echo chamber<\/strong>
\n With rounds and rounds<\/strong>
\n And shots for the hole shebang<\/strong>
\n Who wouldn’t know just us<\/strong>
\n If it<\/strong>
\n Peered before them<\/strong>
\n Un-less<\/strong>
\n Creating an impression<\/strong>
\n As passing wind<\/strong>
\n A harness for the people<\/strong>
\n Those political wins<\/strong>
\n Properly rigged<\/strong>
\n As canvassing<\/strong>
\n In every dialection<\/strong>
\n That exclusive rationale<\/strong>
\n Making everyone wont to yacht<\/strong>
\n Just saying<\/strong>
\n Utterly finished<\/strong>
\n With such stale heir<\/strong>
\n And wads of dollareds<\/strong>
\n For which the winds of change blow<\/strong>
\n Only wanting to go somewhere<\/strong>
\n Wear I can<\/strong>
\n Breathe<\/strong>
\n Just as<\/strong>
\n The win<\/strong><\/p>\n

This poem is about means and ends, and the dangerous complications of focusing so much on methods and techniques that the intended ends are no longer produced by the means.\u00a0 For example, much ado about the Occupy movement focused on the perplexity about the apparent lack of specific demands.\u00a0 Nevertheless, if you asked most any American what the movement was demanding, most of what they perceived was accurate.\u00a0 Fix Wall Street; resist injustices with your whole body and soul — this might be one fair interpretation.\u00a0 However, the distractive powers of the concrete are usually sufficient to keep one’s feet from hitting the concrete.\u00a0 Getting caught up in the details can allow us to quiet effectively bend those details to our own privilege and self-interests.\u00a0 If we keep our eyes on the prize, details will remain details, and how we get there becomes, well, details.\u00a0 Still, even Wall Street, in its seeming Teflon vacancy, may appear immune to hanging the big picture upon.\u00a0 You have to bring your own faith, they are sold out.\u00a0 There is little argument that the Occupy movement has changed the political winds.\u00a0 Who doesn’t immediately recognize and resonate with the framework of the 99% versus the 1%, and what justice demands?<\/p>\n

The pragmatism of the world usually carries the day.\u00a0 Courageous idealism, breeding hope and sacrificial solidarity, carries generations.\u00a0 For the pregnancy of ideals to be borne into the world, they need to be carried to term, long-term.\u00a0 The political riggings of short-term wins offers tempting short-term relief and the lure of incremental change.\u00a0 Still, the winds of change will carry any riggings as it will; the pragmatism of politicians will follow any political wind.\u00a0 Such is God’s genius, that even the most conniving politician will eventually, even dutifully, follow the political winds. The purpose of the citizen is to be the wind.\u00a0 The patience, passion, and wisdom necessary for the good life can never be nailed down by technocratic solutions.\u00a0 Whether the most “civilized” political compromise or outright crucifixion, a vital human heart cannot be built or destroyed by the best and brightest minds machinations nor the most-well-trained minions.\u00a0 The spirit enlivening humanity comes and goes freely as the win.\u00a0 Our way of life is literally a way<\/em> of life, not an end to be achieved.\u00a0 In the inescapable and quite capable dynamism of life, the means and the ends are, in fact, the same.\u00a0 Daily living in a courageous and just fashion, no matter how unfashionable, is the truest currency of democracy; the rest is derivative, that is, follows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
