Holey Toledo!<\/strong>
\nLook at my car, ma!<\/strong>
\nWholly swallowed<\/strong>
\nAs she flew into the pothole<\/strong>
\nA Thelma and Louise moment<\/strong>
\nAt the end of a bad day<\/strong>
\nOnly without a friend<\/strong>
\nBeside herself<\/strong>
\n#%*?&^$#!<\/strong>
\nHaving thrown a fit<\/strong>
\nTo a T<\/strong>
\nAny further and it would be in Chinese<\/strong>
\nHer only consolation<\/strong>
\nPerfectly full<\/strong>
\nFilling the hole<\/strong>
\nThe emptiness of winters take all<\/strong>
\nExacting its prize<\/strong>
\nSo profoundly deep<\/strong>
\nShe may have saved her fare city<\/strong>
\nFrom contracting<\/strong>
\nAnother kick in the asphalt <\/strong>
\nAs the rest just went over the top<\/strong><\/p>\n

This ode, while not addressing my typically epic themes, does take an epic playfulness with the issue of potholes.\u00a0 Holey Toledo, Toledo had the worst winter in many, many years.\u00a0 And along with a brutal winter comes a plentiful crop of potholes.\u00a0 Enjoy the poem.\u00a0 Endure the potholes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
