{"id":1433,"date":"2014-03-29T11:06:36","date_gmt":"2014-03-29T16:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/?p=1433"},"modified":"2014-03-29T11:06:36","modified_gmt":"2014-03-29T16:06:36","slug":"poem-ninja-poets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/29\/poem-ninja-poets\/","title":{"rendered":"POEM: Ninja Poets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Poets are like ninjas<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">They come from anywhere<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">They come from nowhere<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">Everybody has heard of them<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">Yet few actually see their work<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are lots of poets.\u00a0 Though some might say not enough.\u00a0 Most people do not read poetry at all.\u00a0 That is, unless you include clever advertising as poetry!\u00a0 I may just.\u00a0 I see poetry everywhere.\u00a0 This is probably why I write more poetry than I read.\u00a0 While I am inspired by others&#8217; poetry, I tend to go straight to the source: life itself.\u00a0 After all, poetry is just a written result of the heart and mind making love in response to life.\u00a0 The inspiration is in the source, not necessarily the effect or interpretation of the source.\u00a0 Poetry may just be a grasping for God, just another elucidation of a deeper, even ultimate, reality.\u00a0 Poets are like priests.\u00a0 In an ideal world, there would be no need of priests.\u00a0 There would be no class of people to mediate our experience of God, and deep realities.\u00a0 We would directly experience such realities.\u00a0 But, alas, we do not live in an ideal world, and poets play a role of elucidating, perhaps even inspiring, others into experiences of deeper realities.\u00a0 Though good poets want to work themselves out of a job, to see others read directly from the depths of reality and offer up their observations, not for some other end, to publish or convert, but as an inescapable expression of joy, grief, and every human emotion and experience.\u00a0 Our lives would be our poetry.\u00a0 Then, everybody would be a poet and nobody would be a poet.\u00a0 Hey, and who doesn&#8217;t want to be like a ninja?!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poets are like ninjas They come from anywhere They come from nowhere Everybody has heard of them Yet few actually see their work There are lots of poets.\u00a0 Though some might say not enough.\u00a0 Most people do not read poetry &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/toppun.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/29\/poem-ninja-poets\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,15],"tags":[572,360,428,65,431,292,493,79,359,273,438,594,658,291,94,601,53,380],"class_list":["post-1433","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-poems","category-political-and-philosophical-musings","tag-advertising","tag-art","tag-experience","tag-god","tag-heart","tag-inspiration","tag-job","tag-joy","tag-life","tag-love","tag-mind","tag-play","tag-poems","tag-poet","tag-poetry","tag-reality","tag-short-poems","tag-work"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>POEM: Ninja Poets | Poems, Political and Philosophical Musings | Top Pun&#039;s Poetry, Funny Puns, Free Posters, Public Health Radio Show!
