\nAt the heart of US<\/span>
\nThe endless wore<\/span>
\nOn tear<\/span>
\nNever skipping<\/span>
\nA beating<\/span>
\nAs time passes<\/span>
\nUS over<\/span>
\nLooking like patients ignored<\/span>
\nCollapsing under our own wait<\/span>
\nFor loving our animus<\/span>
\nIs too much<\/span>
\nTo bare<\/span>
\nThe truth<\/span>
\nBe herd<\/span>
\nOur soul declaration<\/span>
\nCreed is good<\/span>
\nAs we give ourselves<\/span>
\nAn invisible hand<\/span>
\nThat perplexing clap<\/span>
\nFor doing everything<\/span>
\nThat moves<\/span>
\nUS including<\/span>
\nOur shadow<\/span>
\nDouble dealing<\/span>
\nIn securities<\/span>
\nTrading<\/span>
\nPeeps<\/span>
\nAs seen a phobia<\/span>
\nForges<\/span>
\nCode wars<\/span>
\nAs truth is<\/span>
\nStrangers are friction<\/span>
\nAs per jury of peers<\/span>
\nCourting unequaled dispositions<\/span>
\nBring a bout<\/span>
\nForeboden fruit<\/span>
\nOf the loom weave cobbled<\/span>
\nA two-legged stool<\/span>
\nChock-full of deification<\/span>
\nPortending wee are not<\/span>
\nNumber two<\/span>
\nPreying only<\/span>
\nThere are no leaks<\/span>
\nWhich could raze a stink<\/span>
\nCowering in deed<\/span>
\nNot even with standing<\/span>
\nA rhetorical quest in<\/span>
\nThe proverbial can<\/span>
\nNot out of the woods<\/span>
\nLay bear<\/span>
\nIt’s very nature<\/span>
\nCalling out<\/span>
\nKnow shit<\/span>
\nSherlock<\/span>
\nWithout a hint<\/span>
\nHow ironic<\/span><\/p>\n

This poem goes out to the NSA and all the other proprietors of secrets.\u00a0 The NSA makes a bold play trying to corner the market on personal information about virtually everyone on the planet.\u00a0 All the wile, the NSA lies about itself.\u00a0 Thanks to the continuing Edward Snowden revelations, the NSA has had to deal with the light of day, sending them scattering like cockroaches.\u00a0 The irony is deep when Americans are told that they have nothing to fear if they are law-abiding citizens.\u00a0 So, what of NSA fears that their “private” data is divulged?\u00a0 The spy business is fraught with hypocrisy and deception.\u00a0 The so-called “intelligence” agencies cannot make credible claims about their own behavior when their very existence is incompatible with transparency.\u00a0 A sound democracy cannot be built on official lies and “trust me” reassurances.\u00a0 Power without powerful oversight lends itself to abuse of the common good.\u00a0 Trust is perhaps the most valuable social good.\u00a0 Trust cannot be earned or maintained without honesty and forthrightness. The NSA is sitting on a two-legged stool, and with every fresh revelation about its deception it wants us to believe that its shit doesn’t stink!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
