Revolutions Violent<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Any revolution<\/span>
\nThat must dispose of enemies<\/span>
\nRemains<\/span>
\nMirrorly<\/span>
\nA turning<\/span>
\nOf the tables<\/span>
\nGoing round<\/span>
\nNot with standing<\/span>
\nHow grate thou Art<\/span>
\nAnd wore<\/span>
\nA game that can only<\/span>
\nPlay you<\/span>
\nFraught with duel intentions<\/span>
\nThat two-sided sored<\/span>
\nGiving rise to dark knights<\/span>
\nIn the theaters of life<\/span>
\nGone batty by our blindness<\/span>
\nConvinced of our sound mind<\/span>
\nSquealing beyond any hearing of just us<\/span>
\nRe-lying on eary reflections of reality<\/span>
\nA doody-full radar responding to this MASH<\/span>
\nEfficiently allowing for corporeal punishment<\/span>
\nBeyond the mountaintops<\/span>
\nAnd promised lands<\/span>
\nMLKing our hopes<\/span>
\nWith bullet points<\/span>
\nOnly outlining<\/span>
\nThe gravest of matters<\/span>
\nIn chalk<\/span>
\nWhere truth lies<\/span>
\nAnd faux canons<\/span>
\nTurn on<\/span>
\nUS<\/span><\/p>\n

Violence begets violence. \u00a0Violent revolutions must declare violence inviolate, seeding the next violent revolution. \u00a0What goes around comes around. \u00a0Playing God with war ends up in us being played. \u00a0Violence and killing demands the denial of another’s sacred worth. \u00a0This truth is the first casualty of every war fraught. \u00a0The drums of war are beaten with solemn speeches, truth-challenged bullet points, and faux demonization. \u00a0The myth of redemptive violence lays the bloody groundwork for violence in all forms, providing the easy cover of necessity — “you made me do it.” \u00a0As the theologian Walter Wink puts it, “The myth of redemptive violence is the simplest, laziest, most exciting, uncomplicated, irrational and primitive depiction of evil the world has ever known.”<\/a>\u00a0 Unfortunately, these unsound canons always turn on us eventually. \u00a0Of course, taking responsibility for our own actions, and our own dark impulses, may be even more difficult than making others pay for our shortcomings with their lives.
