This poem was inspired by an image germinated in conjunction with two other Toledo poets at last night’s “Uncloistered” poetry reading<\/a>, Pella Felton<\/a> (birds as poems) and Kerry Jensen Trautman<\/a> (peach pits thrown onto side of road). As usual, I suspect, a trifecta of Toledo poets can beat the four hoarseman of the apocalypse any day of the weak…<\/p>\n

The Pits<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Awe left
\nOf the fruit
\nOf life
\nIs the pits
\nCaste in a fallow feeled
\nAs sow much garbage
\nStill
\nFate has aweigh
\nMuch like you
\nLong a go
\nCeded too
\nForgotten recesses
\nHow ever refuse
\nMiss taken as heir
\nBreathlessly portending
\nIn parent idleness
\nAs won must
\nMerge with the wrest
\nSeamingly in conceivable
\nVarily sum how germ innate
\nSoully to root
\nKnot in sympathy fore sum devil
\nAbut a symphony of generations
\nGone be for you
\nIn countering
\nThe only passing
\nOf time
\nAnd who peers on the seeing
\nCreatures farmerly known
\nAs birds singing
\nPoems tweeting
\nIn that abiding peachy nature
\nA little peace of haven
\nA mother\u2019s kind nest
\nBaring fruits beyond recognition<\/p>\n
