Jobs with Justice Toledo took three buses full of demonstrators
to the Ohio Statehouse, joining thousands of other Ohioans, for a rally on
Tuesday, April 12, 2005, as part of
The Campaign to Protect Ohio's Future. The Campaign to Protect Ohio's
Future is a coalition of over 370 health, human services, primary and secondary
education and higher education organizations, which calls on Ohio Legislators to
protect Ohio's most vulnerable citizens by restoring or adequately funding vital
services through a responsible budget that as its primary priority meets basic
human needs and providing sufficient funds to invest in Ohio's future.
Jobs with Justice members, including Top Pun, were there to live out their
Jobs with Justice pledge, saying:
"I'll be there! During the next year, I will be there at least five
times for someone else's fight, as well as my own. If enough of us are
there, we'll all start winning.
...standing up for our rights as
working people to a decent standard of living.
...supporting the right of all
workers to organize and bargain collectively
...fighting for secure family-wage
jobs in the face of corporate attacks on working people and our communities
...organizing the unorganized to
take aggressive action to secure a better economic future for all of us.
...mobilizing those already
organized to join the fight for jobs with justice."
Top Pun was there with Jobs with Justice to take these protest pictures.
Picture that!
